If you haven't heard a lot about the author Richard Bartram, Jr. that's because he has only recently started publishing his tricks and ideas. His first major contribution to published magic was a blockbuster trick section published in the May 1984 issue of The Linking Ring magazine. The magic was good and it led Phil Willmarth of The Linking Ring staff to say he'd be the first in line to buy this book, "Close Up of The Damned".

While the close-up stuff in the book is the same high caliber magic as that which appeared in The Linking Ring, it is all different material and presented in an offbeat format.
